A Look Into: Dior Spring-Summer 2020

Hi my loves!

This post is all about Dior Spring-Summer 2020 collection. Firstly, I was so honoured and thrilled to be working with Dior for the first time in early 2020. I was invited to represent Indonesia for their Southeast Asia SS20 press trip, in Bangkok! It was so much fun and such a humbling experience. Dior has always been one my favourite fashion houses and I’m forever thankful that our relationship grew from there.

On this blog post, I wanted to show you and talk about all the beautiful pieces from the SS20 collection that I had the privilege to re-see fresh from the runway, during the Press trip and also my favorite ones!

If you haven’t watched the show, you can watch it online, here: Dior Spring-Summer Ready-To-Wear Show 2020.

For the Dior Spring-Summer 2020 collection, Maria Grazia Chiuri paid homage and was inspired by Catherine Dior, Christian Dior’s sister. She portrays her in the garden, which was a passion of hers and this perfectly creates the beautiful tribute to nature for her collection. This new Dior collection evokes her love for nature and gardens. We can see it and sense it through the embroideries, the textures, the patterns and the motifs found on the looks.

All the looks were stunning, sophisticated, light and ethereal. The silhouettes were so delicate. We could see Maria Grazia Chiuri’s classics, such as the emblematic Dior jackets, the tailored pants, the transparent dresses made with lace, layered tulle to create that beautiful feminine flow, which is a staple for the House.

For the colours, we could see a lot of earthy colours such as: blue, beige, white but also ‘colourful rainbow-like’ colours such as the tie and dyes on some pieces; a perfect wink to nature.

I could definitely sense summer with this collection, it made me want to travel! The summer staples, for me, were the espadrilles, the raffia sandals and the beautiful Dway mules but also the perforated high boots and the colourful D-Connect sneakers. For the bags, there was more colour present and more soft colours for the Dior Montaigne bag, the Dior Book Tote bag and the Lady D-Lite.

Here are my favourite looks and accessories:
